ABOUT AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Desktop Processor
The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X desktop processor comes with 16 core. It is part of the AMD Ryzen 9 lineup, using Zen 4 (Raphael) Architecture with an AM5 socket. The core count has effectively doubled to 32 threads thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). The Ryzen 9 7950X has 64 MB of L3 cache and 16 MB of L2 cache and operates at 4.50 GHz by default, but can boost up to 5.70 GHz depending on workload. You can freely adjust the unlocked multiplier on the Ryzen 9 7950X, which greatly simplifies overclocking, as you can easily dial in any overclocking frequency.
With a TDP of 170 W, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X desktop processor consumes much power, so decent cooling is required. This AMD processor supports DDR5 memory with a dual-channel interface. ECC memory is also supported, an important capability for mission-critical systems to avoid data corruption. This processor has integrated AMD Radeon graphics. Programs using Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) can run on this AMD Ryzen 9 7950X desktop processor, increasing compute-heavy applications’ performance. In addition to AVX, AMD has also added support for the new AVX2 and AVX-512 instructions.
